If the concrete Jungles of
Mussoorie does not interest you then take a detour ahead to Dhanolti, 30
km away. Here you can have a look at what a real hill station looks like
before commercialism takes over and you have more hotels and shops than
nature to watch. Dhanolti or Dhanaulti is unspoilt, quiet and with
beautiful views of the snow capped mountain peaks on a clear day. The hill
station has no mall to boast of, what you see is rows of tall pines, green
meadows to take your picnic basket to and snowy Himalayas peeping
through behind every corner. Dhanolti does not have too much of infrastructure
and not too many hotels either. Treks, pony rides along fruit orchards and water streams
appearing from nowhere can keep you busy as there is no mall for shopping or
videogames. One can combine one's stay at Dhanolti with that at Mussoorie or Chamba. Camping
facilities also available at Dhanolti

Dhanaulti
No worthwhile hotels are present and the few present fail to provide even the basic facilities for clean rooms, hot water and power backups. Though it is a beautiful place, the better option is to make a detour to Dhanolti for the day from Mussoorie, Chamba or Kanatal where one can stay.
